Weekly Silly Poems for Children
Welcome to Read Along Poems for Children
How can you instill a love of reading in children? Read with them! Not just to them!
Welcome to these delightful, frequently silly, poems. You’ll get one a week and they are designed to make your child giggle – and participate! You’ll be able to read and re-read them because the rhymes and rhythms are sure to become favorites. Take your time as you read them and give an extra boost to the rhyming words. Encourage the child to finish the line with the rhyming word. (Hint: look for occasional rhymes inside the sentences too! Experiment with how to emphasize them and point them out to your young reader.)
We will start next week with “There Was an Ant Who Could Not Scamper,” so be sure to share and sign up for my eNewsletter below if you haven’t already.
A few more things: don’t forget to leave us a review – and a request. If your child has an animal – or anything else, a favorite toy or event or place... or anything! Send in a request and the author, Merrie, may make a poem just for you!
